How does it work?

How easy is it to implement?
It takes about 10 minutes to become comfortable using the pen.

Will my customers and prospects allow me to use the pen during a sales call?
The answer is yes.  There is sufficient data to support the conclusion that customers want their voice to be heard.  Research suggests that over 85% of all customers feel salespeople do not do an adequate job of listening to their real needs and challenges, nor learn their strategies or competitive sphere.  As a result, over 90%+ of customers and prospects have agreed to let salespeople use the tool during discussions.  Customers are used to being recorded in call center phone applications, paving the way for the use of the Smartpen in the offices and cubicles of customers.  Bottom line - customers want to be heard.

What are the legalities around recording a conversation?
In 40 states, only one person legally needs to know a conversation is being recorded (you).

Should I ask the customer permission to record the call?
We strongly suggest you do.  First, customers almost always agree to let salespeople and mobile professionals use the smartpen.  Second, it is good business practice to be transparent - letting the prospect and customer know exactly what are you doing and why.  There are very logical ways to introduce the pen into the conversation in a way that is customer friendly.

Instead of manually inputting data in my CRM - like I do now - can I automate this process using the Smartpen to save me valuable time?
Yes - there are some very interesting options here.  Our total sales solutions enable some interesting voice or handwriting to text conversion options.  We are in process of developing a voice to text conversion capability for quick CRM input - stay tuned.  We have other options - again, talk to a SmartPenz representative to figure out which option might be best for your situation.

How do I get my "talking notes" to others who want to listen to the conversation?
You simply email your talking notes.  That party whom you emailed will be able to see your notes on their computer screen.  By simply pointing and clicking their cursor on a note area, they will hear the exact conversation that was conducted at the moment in time.

How much audio does my Smartpen hold?
The 2GB Pulse™ version has capacity for approximately 150 hours of audio.  The 2.0 4GB version can handle upwards of 300 hours.  When your pen reaches capacity, simply upload your notes to your desktop or laptop.
